What Games am I playing?

*** Because I spent a whole year abroad, I missed out on a lot of things. One thing, is what my friends and even Gametrailers.com is calling the best year in gaming. Now, I am not a big gamer, I usually just play movie based games or game strongly recommended by my friends, but missing out on every game release between August 2007 and July 2008 was enough to make my friends fake a heart attack. I didn’t see it as a big deal, only missing out on games like Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto 4, Bioshock, Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Mass Effect and. . . . In the process of getting me up to speed, I was introduced to Halo 3′s multiplayer.
*** Halo 3 multiplay: It was alright, just a little unfamiliar. But it still seemed like classic Halo, just in some sleek graphics and different maps.
*** Soul Calibur 4 – I am not a huge Soul Calibur fan, but I dig fighting games as much as I can. The Soul Calibur series, as far as I played them, dazzled us with some badass weapons-based fighting. And this one is no different from the others, even better when displayed in the awesome graphics of the Xbox 360. (I image the PS3′s graphics look nice as well.) The addition of the Star Wars characters and arenas seemed a little puzzling and unnecessary, but with a huge selection of unlockable fighters and badass arenas, this game is pretty tight.
*** Brute Force – Bought this game at the trusty Gamestop in my hometown for about $3.99. Fitting price for a game that is ___ years old. I played it for a couple hours for a couple days and realized that it basically seemed like an early Xbox game: graphics are ok and the walking looks kind of funny. But aside from these early technological thingies, the game seems like a “space out,” just a game to play on a lazy day. Wait, isn’t every day a lazy day?
What shows am I watching?
*** Caught an episode of NCIS and yea.
*** 2008 Olympic Games – Wow, what a fucking sweet opening ceremony! That was pretty tight, what with the drums and those water boxes and dancers and stuff. Unfortunetely I fell asleep before they lit the huge torch. . so I still don’t know how they did it. Damn. But looking forward to seeing the games in the coming weeks. Kind of annoyed by all the news and political undertones.
What movies am I watching?

*** Pineapple Express – What a fuckin’ funny movie. Seth Rogan never fails to make me laugh. In fact, stoner-movies never fail to make me laugh. And in this film, two stoners are on the run from deadly gangsters. Seems like a simple plot, and it is, but simple plots allow for a lot of comedy. Good movie with lots of laughs and legitmately awesome action sequences? And James Franco as a stoner? I didn’t even recognize him. I guess he did an excellent job. Go see it if you dig movies about idiots.
*** “The Delta Force” – Chuck Norris, 1986, and a fucking badass theme song. . . hell yes. ‘Delta Force’ has to be one of the dumbest and coolest movies ever. Not to say that the movie shares both of these qualities in a separate sense, but to say that this movie expresses both at the same time! How can something be so lame and so badass at the same time? Watch the movie for yourself and find it. It is the classic Chuck Norris cheese we all know and love, with some of the funniest lines in a movie. And the old police officer guy from ‘The Naked Gun’ movies? Immediate feeling after watching the movie? Anticipation for “Delta Force 2.”
What music am I listening to?
*** Catching up on some strange German songs, like the song “Ich hab dich lieb” by the cell phone company rabbit named Schnuffel. It’s kind of corny but I like some techno, so yea.
*** More German songs with the addition of Schnappi, das kleine Krokodil. Schnappi, the little crocodile’s songs are pretty cool and funny. Listen to “Das Kleine Krokodil” and “Ein Lama in Yokohama.” They are pretty cool.
*** But this week’s featured song has to go to the funniest thing I have heard in a long time. Perhaps it is old news in the States, but I just heard it this last week. “Real Talk” by R. Kelly is a song in which he talks to his girlfriend on the phone and explains to her who those other bitches at the club were. Just listen. . .oh, and he is 100% serious during the whole thing.
What books am I reading?
***Haven’t done any reading thr last week, so I am still in the same spots I was at in “Eric” by Terry Prachett and “Anleitung zum Entlieben.” yay for reading. . .yay. . .
What else am I doing?
*** Nothing much. Just trying to get Mac Kreker Films back into the swing of things again, hoping to start a production soon.
*** Now, I am never very political. . . but come on, Russia. War belongs in games in movies. . .not IRL. War is lame, man. :( Hopefully the conflict will be quickly resolved.
