This Nerdfest began around 3 pm and took place at J.B.’s humble abode. 3 Xboxes were brought, but only two were used. J.B., Brian, Mark, Kintu, Casey, Tony, Gina, Shawn, Cory, Jon and this other dude ended up sowing up to play some good old fashioned Halo 2. Tony and Gina left around 4 to go and catch a 4:30pm showing of “Pirates III: At World’s End” Some Slayer and Team Slayer games were played. . .but the games that generated the most screaming and heart -pounding action were the ones played under the game type called ‘Zombies.’
This gametype is so:
Map: Any
Starting weapon: Pistol
Secondary weapon: Sword
Teams: 2 (Zombies and Humans)
Time Limit: Depending on your preference
Other things: No shield, no radar
The game starts and one player starts as ‘the Zombie.’ The Zombie uses nothing but the sword, while everyone else uses nothing but their pistols. (Grenades and picking up other weapons is prohibited.) There is only one Zombie at the beginning of the game and every else is Human. The Zombie goes around, looking for kills, and when he kills a ‘Human’ player, that player is has to change teams (through the pause menu) and become a Zombie himself. The object of the game is for all the Human players to survive the time limit. As the Humans die, the Zombies continue to multiply, until there is only one Human left running for his life against, say. . .7 or so Zombies, all with swords at the ready. It is mighty fun. This game was played on Lockout, Zanzibar, Terminal and some others.
After a long while of playing Halo, some soccer was played at a local middle school field. After about 40 minutes of discovering how out of shape we all are, we went back to eat and play some more Halo, but the original Halo this time: Halo: Combat Evolved. An all-rockets game on some map I can’t remember the name of and intense team battles on Wizard ensued. A Slayer match on Hang ‘em High ended the Nerdfest for most, although some continued to play on into the night. w00t!
Shawn chillin’ between some games. w00t!
